Metro City Medical Clinic was established in Edmonton in 2008 when its founders had become increasingly concerned about the impact of untreated opioid use disorder (opioid addiction) on individuals, families, communities and public health. In response to the public health emergency of overdose deaths, we opened a clinic in Calgary in 2016. In partnership with Alberta Health Services we also established a clinic in Cardston to support that community and surrounding First Nations.
We pride ourselves on being leaders and advocates in public health, clinical medicine, health education, and social justice. It is important to our teams that we remain engaged in the communities in which we work.
